Using Light to Create the Ideal Environment for Your Home

Avoid bright and invasive overhead lighting.  If you routinely use the ceiling light in your den or living room, consider changing your fixture globes to one that’s not as stark as white.  Also, you can use lower wattage bulbs.  The more sockets you have, the lower wattage each one should be.

Your better solution might be to bypass your overhead lighting in its entirety if possible.  This is accomplished by placing small table lamps around the room.  Again, depending on how many of these pretty modern lamps you incorporate, you should choose your bulb wattage accordingly.
