Outdoor Furniture Glossary

Deep Seating Furniture – This outdoor furniture is noted by its lower setting to the floor or lawn and offers a deeper cushion setting.  Allows for more relaxation and is found in chaise lounges and other outdoor furnishings.

Gazebos – Outdoor structures that allow a view from all sides and angles.  Usually designed with eight sides and sometimes include lattice work for decorative purposes.  Found in gardens and lawns.

Pavilion – Outdoor structure that’s sometimes constructed of wood and might sit a few inches above the lawn.  They can be permanent or be constructed to break apart for easy storage.

Patio Umbrellas – Oversized umbrellas used in the center of patio tables or other areas where one wishes to block the direct contact with the sun.

Outdoor Chaise Lounge – “Chaise lounge” means “long chair” in French.  Its length is generally sufficient to support the length of one’s legs.  Available in many different materials and styles.
