Track Lights – A Buyer’s Guide
“Track lights” refers to a kind of lighting with multiple ceiling-mounted bulbs. Track lights are sometimes built directly into the ceiling, but this process can be expensive. Luckily, there’s a wide variety of mountable track lighting out there. Track lighting gives off a light of light without taking up any wall or floor space like traditional lamps.
When you’re looking at track lighting, it’s important to keep in mind the size of the space you’re lighting. Track lighting can have a single base mount, or be a number of bulbs along a metal track (what most people think of with traditional track lighting). With a single base mounted light, you can get a lot of light in a small space. With a metal track light, you can spread light over a larger area.
You also need to determine how many lights you want – two, three, or four. This also depends on the space you’re lighting, as well as the aesthetic you’re going for.
Track lighting is also useful when you have something very specific you’d like to illuminate, such as a painting or vase. Most styles of track lighting allow you to change the direction of the bulbs, so that when you move things around, your lighting can move with it.
