Ottoman Glossary

Ottoman – A small wood frame, usually between 15″ and 20″, covered in leather or upholstery and used as storage, a table area or foot rest in living rooms, bedrooms and dens.

Casters – Wheels on the bottom of some ottomans that make them easy to rearrange.

Mortise & Tenon Joints – Used to join two pieces of wood together via pins or glue to form squares.

Bench Ottomans – Longer, rectangular ottomans that double as seating areas or as coffee tables

Storage Ottomans – Ottomans, in either round, square or rectangular size, that are accompanied with storage compartments.
