Office Furniture Glossary
Desk Bridge – A work surface that adjoins two desks or other work spaces. Bridges usually rest a bit lower than the surfaces they connect.
Office Credenza – A matching piece of office furniture that stores paper, pens and other office supplies.
Cubicles – Dividing partitions and walls that break up a large room into several work spaces for individual employees. They’re adjustable, movable and many companies incorporate them due to the noise reduction features.
Systems Furniture – Used to describe an entire cubicle or workstation system.
Anti-Rebound – A feature that keeps drawers closed and prevents them from opening on their own in an uneven floor.
Pencil Drawer – Used to describe the middle drawer on a desk that’s suitable for storing pencils, paper clips and other small office supplies.
