Wall Clock Glossary

Analog – The traditional method of keeping time where hours and minutes are spaced in a round clock face.

Hands – The indicators that mark the hours, minutes and seconds on a clock.

Pendulum – The bar and weight that is suspended and swings back and form.  It measures the time.

Dial – The face of a clock.

Key Wound – The mechanism of a clock with springs.  Requires manual winding.

Arabic Dials – Most common numerals – 1, 2, 3…
