Sofa Glossary

Divan – Long backless sofa, sometimes against a wall with pillows against it.  Divans usually have only one arm that dramatically sloped for design effect.

Sectional Sofa – Couch with multiple sections that can be arranged to the users tastes and room constraints.

Sleeper Sofa – Couch with spring mounted bed that folds under the cushions.

Sofa Table – Taller table, usually slightly lower than the height of the sofa’s back that can be used to place vases or other artwork.

Attached Pillow Back – Pillows that cannot be removed from upholstered sofas.
