Mailbox Glossary

Paper Racks – A paper rack is found on wall-mounted mailboxes and is intended to hold newspapers.

USPS Regulations – Guidelines set forth by the United States Postal Service to ensure the safety of its carriers.  These guidelines spell out what’s expected from residents and businesses in order to receive their mail.  Rural mailboxes have certain other requirements that might not  be required in urban or suburban areas.  Check with your local post office for specifics.

Post Mount – Stands or posts designed to use with curbside mailboxes.  The mailbox will come with proper hardware for safe and secure installation.

Rear Access – Mailboxes that can be accessed from the back as well as the front.

USPS Approved – Mailboxes with the post office’s approval.
