Kid’s Furniture Glossary

Kip Bed – A platform bed with slats that allow easy construction.  Rounded corners make them ideal for toddler’s bedrooms.

Canopy Bed – Decorative bed with four posters with a canopy of decorative fabric stretched across the space between the posters.

Platform Beds -  Beds that are made of a raised flat surface designed to support only a mattress, eliminating the need for a box spring.

Nightstand or Bedside Table – Small table designed to sit next to the head of a bed and used for placing a lamp and other things typically needed at bedtime, such as reading glasses and books.

California King Bed – A bed that’s four inches longer than a standard king size bed.
