Faucet Glossary
PVD – Acronym for particle vapor distribution and is a finish that’s extremely durable and will resist scratches on faucet finishes. Most manufacturers incorporate PVD today.
PSI – Acronym for pounds per square inch and is synonymous with the water pressure your faucet provides. Specs that accompany your new faucet will provide an accurate estimate of what to expect in terms of PSI.
Head Loss – This equates to the pressure of water measured at a certain point, either in feet or pounds.
Faucet Threads – Unique thread sizes for connection to faucets that require special gaskets to ensure leaks don’t occur.
Backsplash – A raised area of a wall behind a mount sink or lavatory to protect the wall.
