Coffee Table Glossary

Drop Leaf Table – Table with hinged ends that fold down on either or both sides.

Apron – Rail that encompasses the tabletop and appears as though it skirts the legs.

Cocktail Table – Sometimes used to refer to coffee tables, these are generally smaller in size and tend to be more rounded.

Console Table – Long, thin and tall table that’s sometimes positioned behind a sofa.

Demilune – These are great accent tables that are “half-moon” and are designed to be placed against the wall in a living room, den or even a hall.

End Tables – Usually come in twos, these tables are usually placed at the ends of sofas and complement the larger coffee tables.
