Bathroom Sink Glossary

Vessel Sinks -  Sinks designed to sit atop or only slightly sunken into a counter.  These are becoming increasingly popular and allow the homeowner to display a decorative bowl – on both sides of the sink.

Console Sinks – These sinks rest on legs while allowing more countertop for mirrors and other toiletries.

Lavatory – Another word used interchangeably with “bathroom sink”.

Glaze – The glossy, water-resistant finished surface that protects a sink’s surface.

Pedestal Sink – A stand alone fixture with sink that sits atop narrow base.

Widespread Lavatory Faucet – A faucet with separate hot and cold handles.
