Guide to Choosing Patio Furniture

Outdoor patio tables have evolved into beautiful creations that can often rival our indoor furniture. Wrought iron, wood and other metals are often found in outdoor patio tables. With so many accessories and chairs to coordinate with your outdoor furniture, you might find yourself spending more time in your back yard this summer. Before you make your final selection, you might want to give some thought to the look you’re going for.
If you have a smaller patio, round table designs often work better and allow you to keep your space comfortable and easy to move around in. There are some great tables to be found that are made of plastic, wood, aluminum or even iron. Also, if you anticipate your table will be exposed to the summer sun, be sure to select your table with an opening for an umbrella. Umbrellas keep the sun off you and your guests.

If you have a larger area to arrange your patio table and chairs, consider an outdoor table that’s rectangular in shape and provides more room for chairs or benches. So many of us enjoy outside dining, especially in the evenings, and a rectangular table gives us lots of room. Not only that, but if you entertain outdoors, the larger table area will be beneficial. One great option is a glass patio table. It adds a bit of sophistication to the overall look of your area.
Finally, you’ll want to consider seating. A popular trend is benches. They provide a more streamlined look than several chairs around a table and are sturdy alternatives that are easily stored under the table and out of your way. Once you’ve chosen your furniture, be sure to accessorize. Plants, small tables and chaise loungers pull together the look of the area and invite your guest to get comfortable.
This summer’s cookouts, cocktail parties and pool parties are just around the corner. Now’s the time to get your deck or patio ’summertime ready’.
