Bathroom Vanity Glossary

Vessel Sink – Basin that sits almost entirely above the counter

Pedestal – Vanity that refers to the legs or supports of a pedestal vanity.

Veneer – Thin sheets of wood applied to surfaces for decorative purposes.

Kidney Top – Vanity or table with curved front and top that’s shaped like a kidney bean.

Scallop – Carved and curved ornamentation used for decorative purposes.

Sconce – Light fixtures that are usually tall and narrow and are found on walls; ideal for vanities since counter space is sometimes limited.
